about Alfee:

As an academic, activist, and accomplished artist, I am driven by my interests in research and policy in the areas of economic development, international cooperation, and south Asian politics. My artistic practice is deeply rooted in my commitment to social justice and advocacy, and I strive to bring attention to the structures of power and inequality that hold people back.

Through my paintings, I explore what it means to be south Asian existing after the colonial encounter, from queerness and community to diasporic longing. My work serves as a visual representation of my commitment to raising awareness about these issues and sparking meaningful conversation and change.

I am a self-taught artist who finds inspiration in the ocean and in people. I bring my visions to life through my use of watercolor and acrylic. I have exhibited in galleries in London, UK, as well as all over Dhaka, Bangladesh in Drik Gallery, Shilpakala, and Bangladesh National Museum.

I am committed to social justice and advocacy: be it through research, art, or my voice.
